What a weekend! The Melksham Grinders Golf Association took to the fairways for an unforgettable few days of competition, camaraderie, and charity—raising over £500 for Dorothy House Hospice Care in the process!

Held across Friday and Saturday on the stunning Nicklaus and Kernow courses at St. Mellion Estate, the main tournament saw members battle it out over two days of seriously competitive (and at times questionable!) golf. Then on Sunday, we came together for the most important part of all—our charity game, where the generosity of players and supporters alike helped us smash our fundraising target for Dorothy House.
🏆 Tournament Results:
- 1st Place: Karl Grainger – showing consistency and class across both courses
- 2nd Place: Matt Sidnell – storming into second with a confident showing
- 3rd Place: John Dawes – keeping it steady under pressure
- Closest to Pin & Longest Drive: Jona Jones
- Most Balls in Water: Steve Putt
- Most Golf Played: Gordon Montgomery – proving that persistence really is key!

A Huge Thank You 🙌
To everyone who played, donated, sponsored, or supported us—thank you. Your involvement made this weekend more than just a game. You’ve helped support the extraordinary work of Dorothy House, who provide compassionate end-of-life care to families across Bath, Somerset, and Wiltshire.
But We’re Not Done Yet!
Although we’ve hit our initial target, donations are still open and we’d love to go even further. Every extra pound raised helps Dorothy House reach more people who need their care and support.
